What is this about?
You may heard a lot on this topic but I need to remind once again the use of Modded apps or cracked Apps. We are here today discussing about the features of mod apps and risks of using it.
What is a Mod/Crack App?
A mod app is a clone of Original App where the Original one is modified and either enhanced something or removed something. It can sometimes give premium features for FREE of the same app that will available only if it’s paid. But as they are modified we are not sure what’s under the hood.
After all nothing is free in this world…
Why do we Like it?
Well In most scenarios we use cracked apps or games to gain those premium or pro features without paying for it.
Whenever we download a cracked game or modded game, We can get a lot of money and everything on the game for free.
In the application Scenarios, Nobody likes ad’s so they use cracked or modded apps in order to get rid of advertisements.
mostly used cracked or modded apps are like Music Players, Photo/video editors, etc.
As so many of us are using GB Whatsapp or whatever that is third party whatsapp.
People use such whatsapp for its special features that are not available in the official whatsapp.
Some of the special features are:
- It Can hide message delivered status.
- It has an ability to add more than the limit of official WhatsApp Broadcast Messages etc.
- We can download our contacts status into our gallery.
- Can Still watch other peoples status even after 24 hours.
- It can lock each personal chats with password.
What is the problem with that?
Well , when it comes to problem its a vast area.
In case of modded WhatsApp, whatever you send is going through another server before it is reaching it into the server. shortly saying someone other can also interfere into your messages. We are not sure that your messages or communications are private or not.
Also you aren’t downloading these kind of modded apps from a trusted website or playstore/appstore. So it may contain malicious code or virus that can be lead to Data Theft.
There are a lot of alternatives for GB Whatsapp, such as Whatsapp Plus, YoWhatsApp, FMWhatsApp, OGWhatsApp, WhatsApp Prime, etc.
Not only whatsapp, mostly all cracked applications have same functions under the hood that is abstracted.
What will really Happen??
Think about It, What if your data’s such as your Images, Audio, Personal files or banking credentials and details on someone else’s hand. Rather than you or some of your friends or families.
You can be manipulated by some attackers using your data’s.
That can be a call or messages where we may click that can change your mobiles into a victim.
How to avoid this??
- Always download any applications either from there own original website or from AppStore or PlayStore.
- Keep your application up to date by updating latest updations.
- Check if you’re giving a permission that is not really needed.
- Get the app from Appstore's so that it could be secured, private etc.
